Thanks to my wonderful family, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Susan, Kristen, and Robin, who came down last weekend and communicated some wonderful research on my condition, I will try each day to post a new statistic on research and foundations. Please feel free to email me with any others you come across in our journey together to help Mike!
This is from the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation website at www.christopherreeve.org
"...if the patient had at least som movement in at least one of their legs at the time of injury, there was a 3 out of 4 chance they walked again..." and as we've heard, he was moving his leg right after the injury so we're very hopeful.

It is important in order to understand this post that people realize that Mike did have about 30seconds of movement in his right leg when we first pulled him out of the water. By reading that passage, its very encouraging news.

Hi Mike,
I just wanted you to know that I am thinking about you often and praying for you every day. I'm glad Aunt Susan, Aunt Nancy, Robin and Kristen were able to spend the weekend with you. Me and Kevin are planning a visit within the next two weeks. Let me know if you need anything from Red Sox country. Aunt Susan gave me the update on your condition and we are confident that every day will bring improvement.
We love you and we'll see you soon.

Mike - you were a real trooper this weekend with all the family and friends that visited you. Your spirit through this whole thing is amazing and it is keeping your family going! Savannah can't stop talking about how she got to sit on your lap. Get well soon, the senkos are ready for our next trip to the lake!
Go O's, ugh, I mean Red Sox
Love-Zack
Gotz,
Just wanted you to know that even though we can't be with you through the week, we can't stop thinking about you and praying for your speedy recovery. It was so great to see you this past weekend and laugh with you! We miss you so much and want you to know that even though we are not there physically with you, you are with us every second of every day. Keep laughing and we will see you again very soon!! Don't play with those knives without us!!
All our love,
Crystal and Randy
Gotz - It's Con. I'm not really good at this writing thing, but I just wanted to let you know that you're like a brother to me and I will always be there for you no matter what happens. Keep doing your exercises. I'll see you soon!
Much love,
Con
Hi Mike!!!
I hope you remember me from Gee's birthday party. But even if you don't remember me, know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. You are such a fun person and I can't wait to hang out with you again in Boston. Take it one day at a time, but get better soon so you can visit.
Love,
Robin (the other one)
To My Main Man Mike,
I am praying for you and know that you'll get through this. I know you're a fighter, stay positive! Wish we could be closer man. Can't wait to see you at the wedding.
From Yves (your black cuz)
Mike,
You are amazing to me. Only you could make everyone feel better every time they visit you, from your jokes to your smile. I am counting the days until I get to hang out with you again. Michael is working on getting tons of Red Sox swag for you!
From Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man "Troubles will come and they will pass". And you are already on the road to recovery. Save me a ride on 'Jenna'.
I love you.
Kristen
Hi Mike,
Not a moment goes by without you in my thoughts. I love you and hope to visit soon. You are so strong and have such a wonderful spirit; keep the faith, it will sustain you and your family and friends.
Today another hurdle, my heart is with you.
Love you, Aunt Karen
Hi Mike-
I'm thinking of you every day and know that you will pull through anything and everything that comes your way. I wish I could see you down in Richmond - but am looking forward to seeing you back home. You have more strength and courage than you can imagine. Keep your positive attitude and keep Kim in check!
all my love,
dana
Michael,
It meant everything to be with you this past week. Your strength, attitude and smiles are inspiring and can only help in your recovery. You have already made strides toward that goal and the other goals you are already setting for yourself. I and your entire family are with you every moment of every day and always will be. Anything you need or want - you just have to ask. We can't wait to see you again - and will be talking and blogging all the time in the meantime. We miss you already. You are so loved, Mike, by all. And you will continue to get stronger and healthy each and every day. That, we all believe. WE LOVE YOU.
