Update

Mike is in a private room at Washington Hospital Center. His room number is 3NW10 and is recovering. He should be home by Friday if things continue to go well.

Just two floors above in room 5c19, our mom underwent an emergency hysterectomy around midnight last night for a large tumor which had grown on her ovary. This was discovered on Saturday. We are waiting to hear the results of a biopsy, and as of this morning, she was relieved the surgery was over and anxious to hear about Mike and the results of her tests.

It was an "exciting" day yesterday for our family and hope this is the end of these issues so we can focus on the rest of the year ahead!

Amen, Kim. Thanks for your post and all the information. I don't think I'm alone in agreeing with you that yesterday was enough "excitement" for your family. I replied this morning to yesterday's post, not having realized that the biopsy was not yet final. All signs do look good up to now. I also hope that Mike stays on course and is back home by Friday - one week from opening day for the Red Sox! Your mom must have been as thrilled as the rest of us upon hearing Mike's good news. Love you - Aunt Nancy

Thanks for the update Kim. We are hopeful the biopsy will come back clean. Love to everyone! Stay strong! Happy to hear both surgeries were positive! I hope the recovery process for Jean and Mike goes smooth?!
Love, Kristen

Great news for Mike and Jean -- such a relief for us that both of you are doing well after such a roller coaster of a weekend! Jean -- you are in our prayers that all test results are good. Surgeries are over, now on to rest and recovery.
Yours in love and faith,
