More Great News!

According to our mom, Mike has been cleared to attend the National Rehabilitation Center in Washington, DC and they have a spot for him starting tomorrow! The hospital social worker is working with the doctors to find out if they will clear him to be moved that soon! The HRC is a facility which could treat his pnuemonia and oxygen problems as well. Mom and dad are waiting to hear the news and someone will post this as soon as we can after that.

I know that some of Mike's friends were prepared to come down during the week, but in lue of this news, it may be better to hold off until we receive word about the timing of his move!

We have NOT told Mike yet of this development because we are not sure when and don't want to get his hopes up in case we still need to wait a day or two.

We will keep you all posted....

-Kim

Mike will be as excited as we are about the move (soon) to National Rehabilitation Hospital in D.C. Thanks for the heads up, Kim, so far as those who will be visiting this week. NRH looks to be a very promising and hopeful place - and Mike will be showing them all how it is done!

Love you all,

That's awesome news kim!! I hope we might be able to get out there again during his rehab stay ! Let Mike know that his little cuzs will be at the Red Sox Game Monday night with Tom somewhere behind 1st base(thanks to uncle ray and aunt nancy). They'll have a sign that says "Hi Mikey Get Moving!!"
Maybe Mike will be enjoying that game from his new digs!!

This move is going to be great for you! After our visit last weekend I just kept saying Mike needs to get out of here, off the meds, and start rehabing! This move is going to be awesome for your recovery. You will be on your way to lake real soon. See you soon Mike!

Glad to hear it!!! I looked over all the info Jeff posted for NRH and it certainly looks top notch. Definitely keep us posted on when the move is scheduled to take place. I know some Boston folk were planning a trip soon, but now we may hold off until Mike is settled. I'm sure once Mike hears the news he will be thrilled and even more focused on recovery (I wish I could be there to see his reaction). Send my love to Mike please and be sure to tell Jean and Jeff they are doing an amazing job. Keep the good news coming and GO SOX!

Love to all,
Robin

It sounds like there has been some great news the past couple of days. Mike, your attitude and spirit have been great from what I've seen and heard. Remember one day, me, you and your dad will be riding again, so never give up. We're always thinking of you and can't wait to see you back up here. All the neighbors send there best and we send our love.
