Safe and Sound

Mike is in National Rehabilitation Hosptal now safe and sound. Room 224 West.

Was was pretty tired today but will be happy to see people tomorrow. Visiting hours are 11 - 9.

The place is amazing. He wasn't there 2 hours when they came in and set up this gizmo on the bed where he can call the nurse, change channels and volume on the TV and make and answer calls and even store numbers all by blowing or sucking through a straw to make selections on this little monitor. He was too tired to learn it all so the guys are coming back tomorrow.

He is really anxious to see his freinds so come ahead tomorrow and over the weekend.

I am so happy to hear the trip to NRH went well. Sounds like you got some high tech devices in that new room of yours. Hopefully I'll get the number soon so I can call you and hear your voice! I hope you are getting some rest and settling in as best as possible. Yves and I are planning on visiting very soon, hopefully next weekend...we are really looking forward to seeing you. I love you very much and Yves said "nothin but love Mikey" (he didn't want to sound to flamin). Be sure to rest and be on the look out for hot nurses.

Love to all, having Mike closer to home must be a relief.

Thinking of here in Boston,
Robin and Yves

Jeff,

Thanks for letting us all know that Mike is settled in safe and sound. We heard from Jean too. It is good to hear that he is in very good hands - not to mention technologically sound - We are fairly certain that Mike will have that fancy device mastered in time to find the Sox/Yankee games this weekend! You all have made the best decision as to where Mike should be right now. One day at a time... We have the room number (and will get the phone number) and be talking this weekend (can't wait to hear Mike's voice again!). More visits are also in the works. Miss you every day. Love, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray

Hi Everyone,
So glad that Mike is settled. It certainly sounds like the very best place for him to begin to work on getting stronger each day. Cannot wait to talk to him and see him within the next couple of weeks. We think of him every minute and know that he's on his way back! Mike, enjoy the Sox/Yanks series this weekend. Love you so much. Jean, Jeff, Kim and Erin - you are helping Mike and doing so well. It will get better day by day. Like Jean said, Jeff - Mike feels "safe" when you are there with him. He needs you all.
Love,
Aunt Susan, Uncle Tommy and Kevin

We are all very happy and relieved that you are now in rehab, the place where everything will happen now. That monitor thing it sounds like you have is going to give you so much more control now! That's awesome!! Can't wait to hear what other fancy tricks they have up their sleeves for you! Work hard (like you have been all along), Take one day at a time, and know we are thinking of you and love you. Uncle Tommy, Aunt Lisa, MM&A
