Thanks!

We just wanted to thank everyone who came by to see Mike this weekend. It was a tiring transfer, but as our Dad's emails indicated, he is settling in and anxious to continue therapy and learn the machines that will help him become more independant. The continuing support and presence of his friends and family is so important to keep him positive, although he is usually upbeat and comical on his own!

Since getting to NRH, Mike is moving his left wrist, and has been issued a custom electronic wheel chair, which our sister, Erin, saw him cruise around in on Saturday morning! He is wearing his regular clothes, and does not have to keep the oxygen mask on for now! The doctors are still working on the fluid in his lungs.

Stay tuned to the blog for some new updates about possible fundraising events for Mike and some pictures of his newest temporary home!

OMG!! Mike, you are making such great progress in such a little amount of time. I don't think you are weeks ahead, I think you are MONTHS ahead of anyone else with your injury!! You're moving your left wrist!!! And now you have some new wheels to be able to get out of your room!! What are you gonna name her? I know you don't want to get too attached, but...she's helping you get around for now...stay positive! keep working! We love you, and wish we could be down there with you!!!

Hey Kim, thanks for the post. I'm glad to hear Mike is settling in well and working hard toward his recovery. I know he is going to do well. I don't know if you heard about the fundraising idea I had, but I'll hopefully talk to you more about it soon. Be sure to send my love to everyone and I hope to see you next weekend!

Love to all,
Robin

Kim,

Thanks for the latest, greatest update on Mike. We could not be happier to hear how well Mike is doing after making the adjustment to NRH. It does sound like a fantastic place - and Mike will be their star client. And I even to to talk to Mike on the phone last evening - sounding strong and ready to start some rigorous rehab this morning! (and also waiting patiently for the Sox to get started with that rain delay!). Mike is amazing - and his continued recovery will be amazing. That new set of wheels sounds great too - can't wait to see it all in person.

The fundraising ideas are in the works and sound exciting too. There are so many people who love Mike. Stay strong and focused Mike - Some family will be there soon, and we'll be talking to you this week - Love to you and to the family - Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray
