We were told late last night that Mike would need another surgery today. This is being done as an extra precautionary measure to help ensure the stability of his neck throughout his recovery. The surgeons will implant another matel plate in the back of his neck to "sure up" some remaining cracks. He is expected to go into the 2 hour surgery around 11am. Mike was surprised by the news, but was accepting of it. Our parents will keep us posted on his status as the day progresses. Thank you for your for your thoughts and support throughout this next step in Mike's long road to recovery.

The doctors know what is best for Mike, we will just keep praying for him every second. Hopefully this will be the last pit stop before the long road to a healthy recovery.

We love you Mikey:)

Oh Buddy... I'm so sorry, I know the last thing you want is to go through something else. Just keep remembering that all of this is to make you the best mikey that you can be when you get outta there... maybe the fish will be more attracted to your pole if you have some extra metal on your side...? I dunno you know me just trying to make you laugh:) We love you. Call us for ANYTHING.

Hey Mikey,

Don't let this get you down. I know you will come out of surgery stronger and that much more determined to get better. You're amazing Mike!

Like everyone said, this is just one more stop on your road to recovery. I wish I could be there with you and that we weren't so far away. Please know that all of us here in Boston are thinking of you ever minute of every day. No matter how far, I will ALWAYS be there for you.

Keep making people smile and save some kisses for me! I love you and can not wait to come see you again.

Love you!

Hold on to what is good,
even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe,
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do,
Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life,
Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand,
Even if I've gone away from you.

Stay strong. Our prayers are with you.
